What are the seats, luggage and models in a sedan?

All three models are hatchback-based sedans with a conventional boot, not a hatchback's fold-flat rear. There's no roof carrier option on a sedan — whatever doesn't fit in the boot rides on laps or the front passenger footwell.

Who should book a sedan?

A sedan is the right call for a solo traveller, a couple, or two colleagues with one bag each. It's also the standard choice for a single airport pickup or drop — one passenger, one suitcase, one laptop bag, no compromise needed. Business travellers doing a same-day Bengaluru meeting circuit, and anyone doing a light one-way outstation drop like Bengaluru to Mysore, get the lowest per-kilometre rate in the fleet by booking a sedan.

Where a sedan gets tight is the fourth seat plus luggage. The boot holds 2 large suitcases and 1 cabin bag — fine for 2 people flying out with checked baggage, cramped for 4 adults each carrying a bag for a multi-day trip. If your group is 4 adults with real luggage, not just backpacks, an Ertiga with its 3 large + 2 cabin capacity is the more honest fit, and it only adds 2 seats' worth of headroom in the process.

Which trips suit a sedan, and which don't?

Sedans are built for flat highway running, not hill climbs with a full load. A Bengaluru–Mysore run on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway is a sedan's natural territory — smooth road, short distance, minimal luggage juggling. The same applies to airport transfers on NH-44 and short local errands within the city.

Longer hill routes change the calculus. Coorg and Madikeri involve a winding ghat climb into the coffee estates on the final stretch, and Wayanad's route runs through the Bandipur forest corridor, which closes to traffic overnight. A sedan can make these drives, but if you're carrying check-in luggage for 3–4 people up a ghat road, an Innova Crysta rides better on the curves and has the boot space to match. Reserve the sedan for 1–3 passengers or a genuinely light-luggage trip.
